Elon Musk laughs about the murder of Kamala Harris again: ‘nonsense’

Donald Trump-supporting tech, Elon Musk, is facing trouble after mocking the assassination of Vice President Kamala Harris for the second time since becoming a presidential candidate.

“Nobody’s trying to kill Kamala because it’s pointless,” he said in an interview Tuesday with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, prompting laughter.

“What do you get? Nothing, you just bought another puppet,” Musk said.

“It’s so deep and so true,” Carlson replied.

“It would be pointless,” Musk continued.

Newsweek has contacted a spokesperson for Musk and Harris’ campaign for comment.

Musk’s comments reflect the second time he joked that no one had tried to kill Harris following the attempted assassination of Mr. Trump by two people, Ryan Routh and Thomas Crooks.

In September, the billionaire, the chief executive of the US government, wrote on X, the social media platform he owns, “no one is trying to kill Biden/Kamala.” He faced strong criticism for the tone of the post, and later deleted it, explaining that it was a joke and that critics didn’t find it funny because they “don’t know the context”.

Musk’s speech on Tuesday to Carlson drew similar criticism. Former Republican congressman Adam Kinzinger, a frequent critic of Trump and Musk, said it was dangerous and inappropriate for a major government contractor to joke about the assassination of the vice president and presidential candidate.

“The government should cut @elonmusk and his companies from serving the US government,” Kinzinger wrote on X, responding to a video of the interview session. “I can’t think of anything more dangerous than this.”

Olivia Troye, a former White House adviser in the Trump administration and frequent critic of Trump, also wrote that Musk’s comments were dangerous.

“The mockery of killing our elected leaders is not reckless – it’s dangerous,” Troye wrote on X. “In today’s divisive climate, we need voices of concern, not careless rhetoric that resolves violence. It’s un-American for Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson to make light of such a serious threat.” our leaders—and all Americans—deserve better.

Democrat Strategist Simon Rosenberg reposted the video on X and wrote: “The owner of this platform is a very unstable person.”

While two gunmen got within hundreds of yards of Trump this summer, Musk’s claim that “no one is trying to kill Kamala,” and his previous statement that “no one is trying to kill Biden/Kamala” are both lies, in several respects. people threatened or tried to kill them, but they were caught.

In August, the FBI arrested a man in Virginia after he made an online threat to fire Harris.

In 2021, police in Iowa pulled over Kuacha Xiong, a 27-year-old man from California. During a search of Xionng’s car, the police found that the car appeared to be a “regular” cross-country trip and found that he had a “hit list” for the public and an AR-15 rifle in his trunk. It was later discovered that he wanted to kill or kidnap Biden and Harris. Xiong pleaded guilty in January to threatening the president and vice president.

Last year, FBI agents shot and killed a 75-year-old Utah man, Craig Robertson, while searching his home after he made online threats to kill Harris and kill Biden during a planned visit to Utah.

Also in 2023, a 19-year-old Missouri man was arrested after allegedly crashing a U-Haul truck into barriers outside the White House. He was accused of many crimes, including threatening to kill the president.

In 2022, Secret Service agents arrested John Andrew Bazor Jr., 37, of Alabama, accused of threatening Biden, including a call to the White House in which he allegedly said: “I’m coming to assassinate the president.”
